Chayse Haldane

Graduate Student Research Assistant

Bio

My name is Chayse Haldane and I am currently in my first year of my Masters of Education – Counselling Psychology. In addition to working as a Research Assistant, I also work at Alberta Hospital as a Psychiatric Aide. My research interests are broad, but my thesis research is on therapeutic assessment. I like to be involved in advocacy and awareness for mental health and social justice issues by work I have done in the community, primarily through the Distress Line. Once I have completed a PhD, I would like to become involved in education as a professor and work as a psychologist in corrections or more specifically, with at-risk youth.

Bio

Hi! My name is Andrea Whittaker. I am currently in my fourth year of the General Sciences Program, majoring in both psychology and computing science. I am also an executive member of the University of Alberta Women in Science and Engineering student group.

My objective is to find a career that combines my interests in both psychology and computing science. The aspirations I have are broad -- from working with neuroimaging technology, to creating effective ways of engaging people during video game play through meaningful game mechanics -- thus, I am delighted to be participating in a lab that is focused on computer-human interaction!
